Welcome to A.F.G.E. District 2 Local 2617
Our Local represents more than one thousand federal U.S. Transportation Security Officers throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of New Hampshire. We were chartered by the American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO, [A.F.G.E.] which respresents more than 620,000 federal employees and more than 10,000 TSA Officers nation-wide in more than thirty locals.
A.F.G.E. Local 2617 TSA Officers are tasked to defend more than twenty million clients annually using, and, involved in the nation's aviation, and, other transportation industries. Nationally, A.F.G.E. TSO union members work at more than four hundred airports, protect more than six hundred million people a year---while using the latest recurrent updated training federally provided by any other federal agency.
U.S. Department of Homeland Security TSA Officers take great pride in what they do and love serving our country. Afterall, like the brave members of our Armed Forces, our TSOs are volunteers!
We have come a long way since the days the prior days of patchworked airport to airport, airport operator and airline private contracted screening companies. Our motto, "Our Union...Your Family!" means just that. When you join, you become a vital member of our larger national A.F.G.E., AFL-CIO, Massachusetts AFL-CIO, and, Greater Boston Labor Council union family of many millions of workers seeking day-to-day equity and fairness within the American workplace. Being in any union is as patriotic and American as apple pie!!!
